    Eventually, these new designs are expected to replace 25 current rotorcraft types in use with the US military. The focus so far has been on FVL Medium, seen as the replacement for the US Army’s Sikorsky UH Black Hawks and Boeing AH Apaches. The main contenders are Bell Helicopter and a Sikorsky/Boeing team.
